Switch 2 Joy-Con Thumb Grips — Now Available | GXXKTRON
Switch 2 Joy-Con Thumb Grips Are Here — Control Thumb Grip Set Now Available
The Control Thumb Grip Set is now available at gxxktron.com, and it comes in two versions. TG200S is built for the Switch 2 Joy-Con stick — and it fits the original Joy-Con just as well — while TG200P is sized for full-size controllers, including the PS5 DualSense and the Switch 2 Pro Controller. Every set includes all three Control surface styles, one pair each, for $10.99.
What is the Control Thumb Grip Set?
Each Control cap is molded from a high-friction rubber compound that provides up to 300% more friction than standard silicone. More friction at the contact point means your thumb stays planted through hard flicks and fast corrections, so your inputs stay steady during intense play. Putting a cap on takes seconds: flip the edge upward, seat it over the stick, pull the edge down and adjust until it sits flush.
Which version fits the Switch 2 Joy-Con?
That would be TG200S. It is designed around the Joy-Con 2 stick diameter, so each cap presses on snug and stays put through quick flicks and long sessions, with no wobble and no mid-game readjusting. The overall height is a compact 7 mm, which adds grip and control without making the small Joy-Con stick feel tall or awkward, and the same cap fits the original Switch Joy-Con too. Full-size sticks are the one place it does not go — the TG200S is purpose-built for the smaller Joy-Con diameter.
Which version fits full-size controllers?
TG200P is the one. It is built to a single diameter and verified on first-party and third-party flagships, covering the PS5 DualSense, the Switch 2 Pro Controller and select models from Flydigi, Beitong, LEADJOY and GameSir, with stick travel, recentering and L3/R3 clicks all working as they should. Joy-Con sticks are too small for it, which is exactly what TG200S is for. And if you play on an Xbox controller, we would suggest holding off for now — that is one fit we are not confident enough in to recommend.
What comes in a set?
Three pairs, six caps, $10.99. Control Tread has the most aggressive surface of the three, made for players who want the strongest hold. Control Cradle cups the thumb for a centered, precise feel, and Control Dome is smooth and rounded so the thumb moves freely across it. Every set includes one of each, because the right texture is easier to feel than to describe.
What's happening with the beta program?
Since applications opened for the Control Thumb Grip beta test, we have received far more of them than we expected, and we are genuinely humbled by the response. We are reading through every application one by one, so if you have applied, thank you for bearing with us — we will reach out to each of you as soon as we can. The beta program, along with everything else happening around GXXKTRON, runs on our Discord server:
FAQ
Do the Switch 2 Joy-Con thumb grips also fit the original Joy-Con?
Yes. TG200S is designed for the Switch 2 Joy-Con stick and fits the original Switch Joy-Con just as well.
What is the difference between Control Tread, Cradle and Dome?
Control Tread offers the strongest hold, Control Cradle centers the thumb for a precise feel, and Control Dome is smooth for free thumb movement. Every set includes one pair of each.
Will the Control Thumb Grip Set fit an Xbox controller?
We would not recommend it. TG200P is verified on the PS5 DualSense, the Switch 2 Pro Controller and select third-party full-size controllers, and Xbox sticks are not a fit we can stand behind yet.
How much does the Control Thumb Grip Set cost?
$10.99 per set, three texture pairs included. Both versions are available now at gxxktron.com.
How do I install the thumb grips?
Flip the edge of the cap upward, place it over the stick, pull the edge down and adjust — the whole thing takes a few seconds.
